Exam Principles
The final exam will ask you to demonstrate your skills at evidence based reasoning. You will receive a scenario and an extensive set of related bioinformatics analysis results. You will answer a small number of short-answer questions by interpreting the analysis, but you will need to figure out your solution strategy, what data to use for each step in your strategy and what data is redundant or superfluous.
This format was first used in 2013. The exam should be available through the Faculty's exam repository. Below, there is a collection of exam questions from previous years. It is not comprehensive, and, since the course emphasis is slightly different each year, not all questions would have been covered in class every year. This collection is not an archive - the questions have been edited for clarity wherever appropriate.
I have not provided model answers because I feel the actual answers would distract from your work with the questions. The goal here is not to know the answer but to master the process of identifying evidence and integrating it.
