The Course Discussion Group at Google

Subscription

  • Access the Course Google Group.
    • If you already have a Gmail account, please login.
    • If you do not have a Gmail account, create an account for yourself. You can delete this account at the end of the course.
  • Follow the link: Join this group
  • Do not change your preferences. It is important that you get announcements timely.
  • As a "Nickname" please use your full name. Otherwise I cannot determine whether you are a student in the class. This will cause you to be unsubscribed.
  • Click on the button Join this group
  • Change your Gmail settings to receive mail to the account you use most regularily.
    • If your preferred e-mail account is Gmail, you don't need to do anything.
    • Otherwise: click on My Account in the top-menu
    • Click on Gmail -> settings
    • Click on the tab Forwarding and POP/IMAP
    • Set your preferences to forward to your favorite e-mail address.
    • Click on Save changes
    • From a different account, send a test mail to your Gmail address and confirm that it gets forwarded to where you want to receive your mail.

Posting

After some days, I will set subscriptions to be allowed by invitation only. Then I will remove all subscribers who are not students of the course. After this, everyone who is a member of the group will be able to post.
