Create a multi-FASTA file ...
... from a column in a table on a Webpage
- Copy the entire table from the Webpage
- Paste it into a MSWord document. It should appear as a table.
- By clicking on the top-border of the table you can select columns
- Delete all columns you don't need
- Select the table
- Use the menu Table > convert > convert table to text ...
- Replace all paragraph marks ("^p") with commas
- Copy this comma separated list of identifiers
- Paste it into the search fieldon the of an NCBI homepage, set your serach to "Protein" and click on "Go"
- In the resulting list set the checkbox for all entries you want (or none to get all), use the menu buttons to "Display FASTA" "Show {more than the number of sequences you have}" and "send to Text".
- save the result as a text-file. Done.
