Molecular Models - Basics


This section of the tutorial introduces you to the basics of rendering molecular models. It includes

  • The basic function of VMD
  • Loading and displaying molecules
  • changing display parameters
  • drawing styles and multiple representations
  • selecting subsets of the molecule
  • the Sequence Viewer extension
  • saving and reloading your work
  1. Download the 1UBQ.pdb file from the PDB
  2. Start VMD on your computer
  3. Access the Urbana-Champaign VMD tutorial, part 1 and go through the steps described there.
